The short version: Scribe collects nothing. There's no account, no server, and no analytics. What you record stays on your Mac.
What Scribe stores
When you record a call, Scribe saves your side and their side as two audio files, plus the transcript, in a folder on your Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/Scribe
Scribe also keeps a small log file there, scribe.log, so a call that went wrong can be diagnosed. It records things like when the microphone started, and it includes the transcribed text too, so treat it as you would a transcript. Like everything else in that folder, it never leaves your Mac.
Nothing is uploaded anywhere by Scribe. You can open the folder from the app, and deleting a call in the app deletes its folder. If you delete the app, the folder stays until you remove it yourself.
Speech recognition
Scribe doesn't do speech recognition itself. It asks macOS to do it.
- English is transcribed entirely on your Mac.
- Other languages (Hebrew and Russian) are sent by macOS to Apple's speech service, the same one dictation uses. That's covered by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
What Scribe doesn't do
- It doesn't collect analytics, usage data or crash reports.
- It doesn't have servers, so there's nothing for your data to be sent to.
- It doesn't share anything with anyone, because it doesn't have anything to share.

Questions
Scribe is open source, so you can check all of this in the code. If you have a question, open an issue at github.com/finereli/scribe/issues.
